This One Time.....

| Now, that the semester's reached its end, I am once again at loose ends. Today I got the tree up and decorated the house for the holidays. The kids are distracted and annoying, but I think that is because of Christmas being right around the corner.
This year has been hard. I have learned some important lessons (ones I should have already known) and discovered that people can be disappointing. Friends, have drifted (or in some cases kick out) of my life.
I guess sitting here by the lights of the Christmas tree I am feeling maudalin. Sorry, I'll try to stop that. :)
Well, let's see what this holiday bring's us... Hopefully more then just packages beneath the tree.

| well, let's see what have I been up to?
I started playing soccer again, in a coed league. So much fun! 3 games into the season I broke my elbow! And let me tell you people they do not give you a cast and they threaten you with surgery! But the good new is that I do not need surgery and that my elbow is better but no more soccer for me until late November ( and of course the season will be over by then).
School is kick my ass.... so much work and very little feedback in my Comm 300 class (rhetorical criticism class) it is just downright frustrating. But overall it has been a good semester. I just cannot wait for it to end.
House hunting will wait until my Hubby graduates in Dec. Which is good because right now i could not take any more stress... Hair is falling out and my weight is a battle, more then usual.
Just been lazy i guess as to why I have not been writing...

| DH and myself are taking a big step and buying a house. It is about time but I am nervous and scared and excited. The house, if we get it, will really be what we need with room to grow. Just a nerve wracking procedure.
It means also that money will be tight for a while, and DH and I will do far less then we have. LOL. Well, I think it is something we need to do. I am tired of renting. The place we are renting is nice, and the owner wonderful,but I want to paint and get a dog if I can. Besides, our own place gives us a nice tax break (kinda).
Kids are really not too excited about it. They could care less and the place is less then a block from where we are currently living. So it will not be a major upheaval for them.
J got accepted to the local area Spanish immersion program, so he will be going to a new school anyways. And P will be starting pre-school. Only DH and myself are going back to the same school (Geo. Mason) LOL. Classes yeah what fun! I really am dreading the upcoming school year. Hopefully this year will go better then the last one did. Or I may change my major...no I won't, I have done that too many times already!!
Tonight is the DC United vs. LA Galaxy game...No Beckham? We will see we are just excited to go.
Well, I will have more now.
Oh, and I am STILL without a phone. Working on buying one, plans were postponed today. :(
Hopefully before the weekend is over I will have worked something out.

| So yesterday J. had a dr.'s appt. No big deal but I was there (for a scheduled appt) for almost 2 hrs. So I thought today's appt for P would be quicker and more pain free. But no...I got there early to complete any paper work (we were new patients) and guess what we still waited 45mins in the waiting room. What really annoyed me was that people came and went while I just sat there....waiting.....
Then they finally call our name, so after the measurements and whatnot, we go to the examining room to wait some more......finally it was 10am and I was done waiting...I walked out of the office, no one said a word to us as we left. What a crappy office. I should've know it was going to be bad when trying to schedule these appts. in June I was put on hold (off and on) for about 30 mins. Really what does that tell you? Too many patients and not enough doctors. I want my co-pay back. And when I called to complain they were not concerned that I was unhappy with their service. Oh, well. It is Burke.
Then I drop my phone getting out of the car. And the face is shattered.... So I cannot call anyone. No phone numbers... NOthing. Great! And getting a new phone from Cingular/AT&T is impossible.

| I just finished watching the most incredible movie I have seen in a while. "Who Killed the Electric Car?" was great, I got all fired up just watching it. I really would love to buy an all-electric car, like the EV1. However, GM no longer makes them, and the ones that were made were mostly (except for a handful) were all destroyed.
Watch it!! Get excited by the possiblities of green cars, and of getting rid of gas dependency!!!! Check out this website:

| I have been slack about posting to my LJ recently. Just been busy that's all. Nothing exciting. I was too busy reading the final book of Harry Potter. I enjoyed it and will miss the characters. I had some problems with the way it ended, there are many unanswered questions (for me).
I have to clean my house, finish a birthday present for a friend and go to Leesburg on Tuesday with my mom. This week is busy, but not as bad as last week.

| I am a complete slack this week. I have been busy cleaning the house and running errands. I will have to go back to Mason and give them DH w-2 forms again. Just what I want to do, run around on campus with 2 small children tailing me from place to place and complain that it's hot, boring, and their legs hurt.
The kids are working on some school work, and then we will go to Hidden Pond Nature Center to met up with some from across the county. It should be a lovely if hot day. | | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| Today I have a ton of errands to run! So, this will be short and sweet. I lied and went to the Lush opening at Tyson's Corner. It was crowded and lackluster. Got some stuff for free by answering questions right, nice job there but overall I had more fun at the bare escentuals store. So many pretty colors and fun kits... so little money and face to put it all on!! I am going back before school starts again and buy one of everything!!!!
i guess for me I have kinda reached my level of "Lush is cool" limit, after all it is only soap and lotion. I still love using some of the products, but I have realized that I only need one or two items at a time. Sad, I know.
